Connect Notion
If your help center or docs live in Notion, Amendary reads the pages you watch. When a release makes a sentence wrong, it drafts the fix with the proof.
What you need
- A Notion workspace where you can share pages with an integration.
- For help pages: what they follow, a GitHub repo connected to Amendary or your public changelog. An owner sets it.
Connect
- On the Pages tab select Add destination, then Notion, then Continue to Notion.
- Notion asks which pages Amendary may read. Pick your help center or docs, or their parent page. This only lets Amendary see them. Nothing is watched yet.
- You land on the Notion tab. Your workspace shows as a card while Amendary finds its pages.
Choose what help articles follow
- On the Notion card, open the Help articles follow list. An owner picks a GitHub repo, a changelog saved before, or Changelog URL to paste a new one.
- Every page you watch as Help center in this workspace then follows it. With a repo, the pages are mapped to it for you.
- To limit help articles to one part of the workspace, open the … menu on the card and select Help articles start at…. Only that page and the pages under it count.
- This is optional. Engineering docs never use it: you map each one to the repo it describes. See Help articles follow.
Watch articles
- Select Browse on the card. Databases open to the pages inside them.
- Select Watch on a page, then As Help center or As Engineering docs.
- The page appears under Watched pages. Set its type there. If Help articles follow is not set, add the repo it describes with Add repo.
- A page is missing? Open the … menu on the card, select Add a page by link… and paste its link. Or select Refresh.
What Amendary changes
When you select Update in Notion on a fix in the Queue, Amendary:
- edits the wrong block in place, or adds a comment when the edit cannot be placed safely;
- can undo the edit for 30 days, unless the block changed since.
It never reads or changes pages you did not share, and it does not host your help center. Generate can add new pages under a page you choose.
Languages
Each Notion page is checked on its own. A fix is not carried into translated pages, and missing languages are not drafted. For fixes in every language, use GitHub, Zendesk or Intercom. See Choose a help-center setup.
Try the release workflow
Once connected, follow Update Notion pages after a release to check a release, review the fix and update the page.
Disconnect
- Select the … menu on the Notion card, then Disconnect. Settings, Integrations has the same button.
- Nothing in Notion changes. Amendary forgets these pages and deletes their fixes, check results and product-update entries. Connecting again does not bring them back.
- To stop checks on one page, select Unwatch in its row menu.
Troubleshooting
Missing pages and checks with no result are in Troubleshooting.
