Connect Zendesk Guide
Amendary reads your Zendesk Guide articles and their translations. When a release makes an article wrong, it drafts the fix in every language for you to approve.
What you need
- Your Zendesk subdomain: the part before
.zendesk.com, for exampleacme. - A Zendesk login that can edit Guide articles.
- What your articles follow: a GitHub repo connected to Amendary, or your public changelog. An owner sets it.
Connect
- On the Pages tab select Add destination, then Zendesk.
- Enter your subdomain and select Sign in with Zendesk.
- Zendesk asks you to sign in and allow access. Select Allow. If you cancel, nothing is saved.
- You land on the Zendesk tab. Your account shows as a card, for example
acme.zendesk.com.
Amendary asks only for Help Center access (hc:read and hc:write), so it cannot reach tickets or users. It never sees your password. Its access is renewed on its own. If Zendesk refuses the renewal, the card shows Needs reconnecting and a Reconnect button.
Choose what help articles follow
- On the Zendesk card, open the Help articles follow list. An owner picks one:
- a GitHub repo, to check its releases or commits;
- a changelog you saved before;
- Changelog URL, then paste the address and select Save.
- There is no Browse button until this is set. See Help articles follow for how each source works.
Watch articles
- Select Browse on the card. You see your categories, sections and articles.
- Select Watch on an article, or Watch on a section to watch every article in it.
- Watching an article watches all its languages. Draft articles are listed too, marked Draft.
What Amendary changes
When you select Update in Zendesk on a fix in the Queue, Amendary:
- changes the body text of the article and each translation, in place;
- keeps a published article published and a draft a draft;
- writes nothing if the article changed since the fix was drafted.
It never:
- publishes, unpublishes or deletes an article;
- changes a title, section, label or permission;
- edits a block with an image or other markup.
Generate can add new articles. Each is saved as a draft in the section you choose. You publish it in Zendesk.
Languages
- One approval fixes every Ready language. A language Amendary is not sure about says Check it or Not found and waits for you.
- Set the languages every article should have under Help-center languages in Settings, Integrations.
- For a missing language, open the watched article on the Pages tab. Under Missing languages, select Draft translation. It is saved as a draft in Zendesk.
- More in Help-center languages.
Try the release workflow
Once connected, follow Update Zendesk articles after a release to check a release, review the fix in each language and update the article.
Disconnect
- An owner selects the … menu on the Zendesk card, then Disconnect. Settings, Integrations has the same button.
- Nothing in Zendesk changes. Amendary asks Zendesk to revoke its access, stops watching the articles, and deletes its tokens, fixes and check results.
- A Zendesk admin can also remove the access in Admin Center, under OAuth clients and tokens.
Troubleshooting
Sign-in errors, missing articles and checks with no result are in Troubleshooting. Fixes follow the Help center review mode. See Review and undo. Sign-in steps checked against Zendesk’s OAuth guide on 21 October 2026.
