Amendary for Notion

Notion is where many teams keep the pages customers, support and engineers depend on. Amendary keeps those pages aligned with what ships on GitHub: it corrects the passage a change made stale, grows a dated product-updates page, and records every edit so it can be undone.

What Amendary reads

When you connect Notion, its picker asks which pages (or which parent) the integration may see. Amendary reads the titles of those pages through Notion search to build the list you choose from. Search is not exhaustive, so Amendary says “discovered pages”, not “all pages”; a page it missed can be added by pasting its link.

A discovered page does nothing until you watch it and map it to the repo it describes. Only mapped pages are read for a check: the whole page when its claim index is built, and the matched sections when a change is judged. Routine checks do not keep full page snapshots; correction excerpts and replaced blocks are stored for review and undo. Comments are never read.

What Amendary edits

Corrections edit text blocks and sections on mapped pages. Formatting of unchanged text is preserved: bold, links, inline code and mentions stay as they were. The model names a region and writes it as it should read; code works out which blocks change, are added or are removed, and a nested list is never rewritten in place.

When a correction cannot be placed on a specific block, Amendary posts a page comment instead of guessing. A page set to the product-updates type is not corrected; dated entries are added under it as its source repos ship. With generation credits, Amendary can also create new pages under a parent you choose. Notion does not offer integrations a suggested-edit mode, so an applied correction is a direct edit, logged and reversible in Amendary.

Capabilities the integration requests

These four, and nothing else:

  • Read content, to read page titles and the text of mapped pages.
  • Update content, to correct text blocks on mapped pages.
  • Insert content, to add product-update entries and to create pages when you generate docs.
  • Insert comments, to post a comment when an edit cannot be placed on a block.

Read comments is not requested. The integration only posts comments; it has no code path that reads them. It can be installed in any workspace.

Review by default, auto on a paid plan

New workspaces start in review mode: every correction and every product-update entry waits in the Queue for a person. On a paid plan an owner can enable auto mode in Settings. Even then, a correction with a version, path or URL the change does not back up, one that removes content or a value the change does not mention, or an addition outside the narrow grounded case still waits. The free trial is always review-only.

Undo on every Notion plan

Every applied correction stores the original text in Amendary. For 30 days the queue offers an Undo that first checks the block has not been edited since, then restores the stored original. If someone edited it in between, the undo is refused rather than overwriting their work.

Because the original lives in Amendary, undo does not depend on your Notion plan. Notion’s own page history is an extra safety net, but its retention varies by plan and it only exists in the Notion UI, so Amendary does not rely on it.

See it on our own pages

Amendary maintains its own customer documentation in Notion. No customer content and no staged screenshots: open the Help Center that is checked as the product changes, and the product-updates changelog produced from shipped changes.

Where to go next

See the first correction on your own docs

Connect GitHub and the docs you already keep in Notion or GitHub. The first check runs on a recent release, so you see a correction with its evidence before you decide anything.

Free for 7 days, no card. You approve every edit. Code is never touched.
