Review and undo help-center fixes
An approved fix changes the live article. This page explains who approves it, what stops an automatic fix, and how to take one back.
Review first or automatic
- One setting covers help articles in every destination: Notion, GitHub, Zendesk and Intercom. It is the Help center review mode.
- Review first is where new teams start. Every fix waits in the Queue. Nothing is written to the article until a person approves it.
- Apply automatically writes the fix on its own, unless a hold below stops it. It needs a paid plan or your own Anthropic key. The free trial is review-only.
- Change it in Settings, General, under Review mode, on Help center. An owner makes the change.
What the Queue shows
Fixes are grouped by the change that caused them: a release, pull request, commit or changelog entry. The group shows the proof once, then each article with its fix in the source language and one row for each other language your plan covers. Approving the source fix sends every language marked Ready. See Languages.
What holds a fix, in plain words
In automatic mode a fix still waits for a person when:
- it states a version, path or URL the change does not back up;
- it removes a value the change does not mention;
- it removes or shrinks content;
- it adds new text, with one narrow exception for an addition inside a rewritten section that the change fully supports;
- it proposes a new page;
- no edit could be drafted or planned.
For another language, the row says Not found when the translated sentence is not found as written, and Check it when a number, version, URL or name from the source sentence is missing from it.
Approve a fix
- Open the group in the Queue and read the proof.
- Check the old and new sentence for each article and each language.
- Select Dismiss this language for any one you do not want.
- Approve the source fix. The button names where it goes: Update in Notion, Commit to GitHub or Open pull request, Update in Zendesk, or Update in Intercom.
- Amendary updates the live article and each Ready language. Published languages stay published and drafts stay drafts.
How undo works
- Amendary stores the old text of every block it edits, with the fix.
- Open Auto-applied or Resolved in the Queue and select Undo next to the fix. It is available for 30 days.
- Amendary checks that nobody edited that text since. If not, it writes the old text back. This undoes the source article and each language it delivered.
- A language someone edited after the fix keeps its text. Its row says to undo it by hand.
Conflicts
- Before every write, Amendary reads the live article again. If it changed since the fix was drafted, nothing is written. The row reads Changed since.
- An undo is refused the same way when the fixed text was edited afterwards. Edit the article by hand.
- A failed save shows Failed. You can retry it, or fix it by hand.
