Diagrams designed from the code

Ask for a diagram on a Notion page and Amendary designs it from the page and its repo's code. Every label is checked against what it read, and the diagram waits for your review before it reaches the page.

In early access: turned on per team. Write to hello@amendary.com to try it.

What it does

  • On a Notion page mapped to a repo, select Suggest a diagram. Amendary designs a diagram from the page text and that repo’s code: the parts, how they connect, and how they group. Nobody draws.
  • The diagram is rendered on our server as an image, with an SVG and an Excalidraw file you can open and change in your own tools.
  • The proposal waits in the Queue. Add to page puts it on the page as an image with a caption that names the diagram and its version. A later version replaces that image in place.

How it works

  1. The model designs a graph: boxes, arrows, groups and their labels. It never picks colors or positions.
  2. Code checks the shape: at most 24 boxes, 40 arrows and 6 groups, one-line labels, no two boxes with the same name.
  3. Code checks that every label appears in what the model was shown: the page text or the code. A missing label gets one retry that names it. If a label is still missing, nothing is filed and your credits are refunded.
  4. Code lays the graph out with Graphviz and renders the image, the SVG and the Excalidraw scene from the same layout. Each result is saved as a version that never changes.
  5. The proposal is filed in the Queue with the image and where each label was found.

What it never does

  • It never puts a diagram on a page without a person. Diagrams wait for review in review mode and in auto mode.
  • It never shows a label it could not find in the page or the code.
  • It never writes over an image a person replaced or removed. Add to page adds a new image instead.
  • It never removes an image from your page unless you ask for that when you delete the diagram.

Evidence and review

The Queue card shows the image, every label and where it was found (the page, or a file in the repo), and links to the SVG and the Excalidraw file. You select Add to page, Reject, or snooze it.

Labels are checked; arrows are not. The check proves that every name exists, not that every connection is right, so look at the arrows before you add a diagram to a page.

Limits

  • Notion pages mapped to a repo. The diagram is designed from the code of the first repo the page was mapped to.
  • Not yet for pages in a GitHub docs folder or wiki, not part of generation runs, and not in the API or MCP.
  • One suggestion at a time per page.
  • The files of a deleted diagram are removed 30 days later.

Pricing

A suggestion spends credits, like generation. Before it starts you see the credits it holds. It settles to what it used when a proposal is filed, and refunds everything when no diagram fits. See Billing & plans.

Where to go next

Try Amendary on your own docs

Connect GitHub and the docs you already keep in Notion or GitHub. During setup you can replay a recent release against your help pages to see what Amendary would draft, with its evidence.

Free for 7 days, no card. Every edit waits for your review unless an owner turns on auto mode. Code is never touched.
