Diagrams

Amendary can design a diagram for a Notion page from the page and its repo's code. Every label is checked against what it read, and the diagram waits in the Queue until you add it to the page.

Who can use it?

In early access: turned on per team. Write to hello@amendary.com to try it. Once it is on, watched Notion pages get a Diagrams section on the Pages tab.

How do I suggest a diagram?

  1. On the Pages tab, open the row of a watched Notion page that is mapped to a repo.
  2. In its Diagrams section, select Suggest a diagram.
  3. The confirm step shows the credits the suggestion holds. Select Suggest.
  4. The diagram shows “Designing…” while it runs. When it is done it reads “In the Queue”, or “Not designed” with the reason.

How is a diagram designed?

The model reads the page text and the code of the repo the page was first mapped to, and designs a graph: boxes, arrows, groups and their labels. Code checks the shape (at most 24 boxes, 40 arrows and 6 groups) and checks that every label appears in the page or the code it was shown. A missing label gets one retry. If a label is still missing, nothing is filed and the credits are refunded.

Code then lays the graph out with Graphviz on our server and renders an image, an SVG and an Excalidraw file from the same layout. Each result is saved as a version that never changes.

How do I review it?

The proposal is a card in the Queue. It shows the image, every label with where it was found (the page, or a file in the repo), Open SVG and Download for Excalidraw. Select Add to page, Reject, or snooze it.

The check proves that every name exists, not that every arrow is right. Look at the connections before you add a diagram to a page. A diagram always waits for a person, in review mode and in auto mode.

What does Add to page do?

The first time, it adds one image to the end of the page with the caption “title (v1)”. A later version replaces that image in place. If someone removed the image or put their own in its place, Amendary adds a new image instead of writing over theirs. If adding fails, the proposal stays in the Queue with the reason.

Can I edit a diagram?

Not inside Amendary. Download the Excalidraw file from the Queue card and open it in Excalidraw to change it. An edited copy you put on the page yourself is yours: Amendary does not track it.

How do I delete one?

Select Delete next to the diagram on the Pages tab. A proposal still waiting in the Queue is rejected with it. If the image is on the page, you choose whether to remove it too; it is only removed while its caption is still the one Amendary wrote. The diagram’s files are removed 30 days later. If you stop watching a page, its diagrams are kept.

What does it cost?

A suggestion spends credits, like generating docs. The credits are held when it starts, settled to what it used when a proposal is filed, and refunded in full when no diagram fits. Credits come with your first paid plan and in one-time packs (see Billing & plans).

What is sent and stored?

The page text and the repo’s code context are sent to the model to design the graph. The graph, the image, the SVG and the Excalidraw file are stored in private storage, and the image is uploaded to Notion when you add it to the page. See Security.

What does it not do yet?

Diagrams are for Notion pages only: not yet for pages in a GitHub docs folder or wiki. They are not part of generation runs, and they are not in the API or MCP.

Try Amendary on your own docs

Connect GitHub and the docs you already keep in Notion or GitHub. During setup you can replay a recent release against your help pages to see what Amendary would draft, with its evidence.

Free for 7 days, no card. Every edit waits for your review unless an owner turns on auto mode. Code is never touched.
